Design Challenge
The first was to build a robot that could climb a ramp at different heights. As the height was increased it became more difficult to climb. During this challenge we designed several prototypes. However as we addressed one issue another would surface. These are our prototypes.
Prototype 1
Our first protoytpe was made with the idea that being lower to the ground would decrease drag. However, our bot could only climb the second ramp at a 33 degree angle. The problem with this bot is that it could not gain traction on the heigher ramps.
Prototype 2
The highest this bot could climb was also the second ramp. What we changed is, we angled the back wheel in an attepmt to gain more ctraction as well as lowering the speed at which the tires turned.
