The challenge
The challenge was to build a bot that could launch one of the balls into our tetrix container.
input factors
There wasn't anything we needed to know before building this bot.
The bot
The bot we built is able to launch a ball into our tetrix container. This is accomplished through the use of two next motors, a touch sensor, a light sensor, and a sonar sensor. The light and sonar sensors help to guide the bot. The touch sensor is held by the operator of the bot. This is because when the button is not pressed down the bot will fire the ball. The bot uses the light sensor to follow a line while the sonar sensor detects for the bin. When the bin comes within range the button is let go and the bot fires.
program
The program does several things: check light values sent from the light sensor to see whether they are above or below a specific value and turn accordingly, check distance measurements sent from the sonar sensor to see whether they are above or below a specific value, and check on whether the button is pressed to released. These parts of the program allow it to follow a line, measure distance, and fire a ball, respectively.
final output
The final output is a bot that can fire a ball into the tetrix bin.
