Rattle Snake Bot
The Challenge:
The challenge for this bot was to build and program a robot that could detect an oject and react to it, in this case it would try to grab it.
Input Factors: The bot would need to be able to detect an object in front of it and the sonar sensor would be able to perform this function the best.
The Process: The first thing my group and I decieded to do was to look up some designs of what others have done. We used these designs to create a rough idea of the robot's structure. We found that a construction of a sissor-lift like arm would work weel for this. We then created a base to provide more stabillity for the bot so when it tries to grab the object it would not fall over.
Final Output: The end result created a bot that could detect and grab an object within 40 cm.

Prototype 1 (Final)
Robot has one drive motor, which moves the scissor mechanism that is the "arm" of the robot. When an object gets within 40 cm the arm with activate. The four wheels attached to the bot increase stability.
The robot will idle if the reading is greater than 40 cm it is false and will wait untill an object comes within 40 cm.
When the sonar sensor detects an object within 40 cm the reading is true and this is the directions it will follow.

Things I Would Have Done Differently: I would not have done anything differently because there would not be any suitable subsitute for any of the structures that were built.
